If you used to carry files and transfer them using Internet, then a Portable application like 7-zip will be very useful for you since it compress and decompress files. In addition to this, this portable version gives you the possibility of loading it in a USB flash device so you can use it on any computer.
There is a small exception that we must consider when installing it. When it asks in which location we want to install it, we must select the USB flash device in which we want to place it.

By clicking on the Examine button we will be able to locate the USB flash device as another unit in our computer. We will indicate it and finally select Install.
Once installed and run we will find a browser to access all the files stored in our PC.

To start, we will compress the files. First, we will need to search the files we want to compress, mark them with the mouse and click on Add.

A new window will appear where we will be able to set up several compression parameters.

At the top we will indicate the unit in which we want to locate the compressed file and bellow we can specify the compression format, the level, the type and many other variants. When finished, click on Accept and in a matter of second the compression will appear where we previously indicated it.
Now, to complete the process we are going to decompress a file. First, we will search the file to decompress by the browser that 7-zip offers. Once we found it we must select it and click on Extract.

This way, we will see a small window to select the location of the files we are going to decompress.

We click on Accept and in a matter of seconds the files will appear in the folder we previously chosen.
